It’s that time of year again when some grocery stores in Utah have case lot sales. This is a great opportunity to stock up on canned and packaged foods for your food storage because you can buy them at discounted prices.
In March I like to gather tomato and pasta products such as spaghetti sauce, canned tomatoes and dry pasta. But there are many more items in the stores. You can find out more about the items I like to gather in March by downloading my Food Storage Organizer: Monthly Prep Guide. This guide teaches you how to gather food storage and emergency supplies month-by-month so it’s not so overwhelming. I like gathering this way so I learn to use what I store. Building a food storage supply should be done carefully or you will end up with too much of some items.
Since I just moved to a new home, I’ve had the opportunity to clean out old food items. Yes, I actually trashed some of the old stuff, but I also gave some useable items away. It’s important to reevaluate your food choices periodically, because you may be storing something your family no longer eats. I’m excited to get my food and emergency supplies organized on my shelves again since my house is still unorganized as we unload boxes. One day at a time, right?
Here are the dates of the Utah case lot sales I found. These sales typically run for two weeks, but please check with your store to be sure. And if you live out of state, no worries. Just stock up on something you find on sale. Happy gathering!
