Recommit to the Principles of Self-Reliance

I am excited for the new year to begin. I came across this talk on LDS.org entitled “Principles of Self-Reliance” by Silvia H. Allred, who spoke at the May 2008 BYU Women’s Conference. Sister Allred is the first counselor in the General Relief Society Presidency. This talk is a must read! It will remind you of what is important and that “The Lord has commanded that we use the blessings we have been given to become self reliant as individuals and families.”

  1. Hi! I just found your blog. I’m an Arizona mom of 7, although half of my brood is on their own now. I love your blog and I’m looking forward to seeing what you share this year. I’m saving yours to my favorites list. I, too, am committed to food storage and frugality and plan to post about it more this year. (I pre-wrote a post for Dec 31st talking about how I made my contribution to our family Christmas party with more than 1/2 food storage)
