December After Christmas Sale Items for Food Storage and Emergency Preparedness

December 26th, 27th and 28th will bring outstanding holiday savings for food storage and emergency prep items. Here’s a list of things that typically go on sale during this time of year.

Look in store clearance areas for…

  • gravy, canned ham, cranberry sauce, pumpkin, pie filling
  • boxed stuffing and potatoes
  • cake, brownie, and muffin mixes
  • holiday frosting, holiday sprinkles
  • sugar and flour (if your store stocked too much)
  • spices, baking cocoa, chocolate chips
  • cocoa drink mix, candy
  • crackers, chips, nuts, dips
  • holiday paper plates, napkins, and baking cups (save for next year)
  • holiday parchment paper
  • holiday rolling pins, cookie cutters, cookie presses, candy molds
  • candles, flashlights
  • lotion & shampoo gift sets (pour holiday liquids into your own dispensers and save a bundle!)

  • butter, ham (cube it), bacon, turkey breast

  • food containers, plastic storage bags, food gift boxes
  • storage baskets, bins and tins for your pantry (spray paint the tins)
  • cooking utensil sets, knife sets, pots and pans sets
  • dish sets, casserole dish sets, bowl sets, mugs, kitchen towels
  • Instant Pot $49.99 reg. $99.99 can you beat Walmart’s price?
  • KitchenAid standing mixers

You’ll find steeper savings in January, but store stock will be limited. So, if you need something now…

  • find anything fleece or flannel
  • coat, mittens, beanie, scarf
  • sweater, pajamas, thermals, socks
  • boots, slippers
  • blanket
  • heater, humidifier

Check department store tool areas or “men’s gifts” for useful emergency items:

  • Do you need a backpack? Look for extreme discounts online at Amazon, Costco, Kohl’s, Eddie Bauer, Cabela’s, Walmart, and Land’s End.
  • ice scraper, auto pressure gauge, tire air compressor, auto emergency kit
  • flashlight, lanterns, multi-tool, survival tools
  • Kohl’s has a 4-in-1 kit with a shovel, saw blade, ax head, nail remover, & carrying case
  • digital coin bank to help you work on your emergency savings

I hope this list helps many of you. I’d gather food, but you know me. 🙂

Merry Christmas!
