Make a 72-hour Kit in 12 Steps • January Prep Challenge #4

Our fourth January preparedness challenge is to make a 72-Hour Kit in 12 steps. I get the highest number of views about this topic on my website, so I take it seriously. Some people call it a bug-out-bag or grab-and-go kit, but they all have the same purpose: to grab supplies if you need evacuate. Everyone should have a kit at home and at work. Let’s start with the one at home.

You can gather items as slow or fast as you want. These kits are more expensive than most people think, so breaking it down into 12 steps makes it more doable. You DO NOT have to get everything I suggest. Each step has a brief article to read. There is a printable with a list of items above you may want to use as well.

Get your family involved in this challenge so everyone takes ownership of their kit. You CAN do it!
